A word from the Conductor...
The ensemble we've created is somewhat unusual. The performers sang under my direction during the eleven years I was the Choral Director at Texas Tech University. About ten years later, they decided to meet again to sing together in Dallas, Texas. Now, 60-65 former students are able and willing to travel long distances (from California to North Carolina and abroad) to sing together again, if only twice a year. The music is sent out in advance and the members work on it diligently, then fly or drive many miles to spend a day and a half creating music together again. For those of us fortunate ones who can make the journey, it is more than just a nostalgic trip back to our college youth, rather new musical experiences are created. It would be a luxury if we could rehearse week after week for hours on end, but the very nature of our ensemble makes this impossible. Therefore, we come as prepared as possible and dedicate ourselves to crafting the sound we still have in our ears from years ago. What you hear at our performances is full of love and passion, for the music and for each other. Most of all we are grateful that we are able to come together and our goal is to present an outstanding musical performance, despite the fact that we've only rehearsed as an ensemble for two days days. We hope your enjoyment is at least a fraction of the joy we experience singing together.
